Meng 1/35 M4A3 (76) W Sherman
Been a while since I started a new build, plan to build this one almost OOB.
Comes with working tracks and metal volute springs. From what I have read the tracks are a fiddle to put together and the detail on the commanders M2 is a bit soft, but we shall see!I'm a serial kit starter....

Built up the six bogies. The steel springs are nice, the suspension is workable but a bit of a fiddle to put together. Pay attention to the instructions, the suspension arms can be installed the wrong way round.

Built it a few years ago and its a nice kit. I used the rubberish tracks from their Jumbo (which are too short) kit instead of the kits.

Getting close to following your lead, the kit tracks are proving frustrating….

Their Jumbo kit replaces the soft wire that is in their A3 with harder wire.

I've always been curious about this kit but my LHS has it for an outrageous price though.
Looking forward to progress.

Meng kits for reason are expensive here in MN as well.

Tracks done. Was a labour of love and very tedious but they do build up nice. The pads are two pieces, the end connectors x2 and the duckbills if you want them. All held together with flimsy wire. My tips;
- you need 75 links per side, not the 79 the instructions call for
- cut the wire to 12mm lengths. This is enough to work with and means you won’t run out.
- use the assembly jig, insert the wire from one side, sit flush and glue with a dab of CA. Cut then file flush on the other side, then another dab of CA.
- some links may need a micro drill to open up as there is flash over the holes on some end connectors and some of the pads also get clogged.

A labor of love. Well done.
