Kv-1 1940
It's still too cold to do any painting so I started another KV-1. Mainly because it was the only thing where I had most of the aftermarket available. I'm still waiting on a few goodies but it's getting there.

Well done Bryan, always a pleasure to see a nicely battered KV

I know right! I've tried to do these beat up fenders in plastic before but they never work.

Re: Kv-1 1940
I keep looking at the damaged road wheel, did you grind that down from the plastic part, or scratch build?

Re: Kv-1 1940
Thanks for noticing. I trimmed the hub from the kit part, the post behind it is styrene tube turned down with a file and a cordless drill. The plate piece is a kit part with the holes drilled out. There should be a channel along the plate but I didn't want to risk my only kit part.Adam Durrant wrote: ↑11 Mar 2023, 21:21 I keep looking at the damaged road wheel, did you grind that down from the plastic part, or scratch build?

Re: Kv-1 1940
This KV-1 1940 has now morphed into a KV-6 Flame Thrower.
The conversion piece comes from Zitader Models out of Japan. A small garage kit company with some unique items. Their site is challenging to navigate so here is the armor specific stuff - http://www.zitader.jp/am.html Lots of options for Japanese armor.

Re: Kv-1 1940
Thanks Philipp.
I've had some free time on my hands so I have been able to focus on finishing projects.
I painted this with the early three tone scheme. I've always wanted to paint this combination.
