According to this the box contains a little telescopic sight.

Re: Tamiya T-62
Thanks Phillipp, that's that mystery cleared up!
I had to make a new gunsight as I knocked the orginal off and fed the carpet monster.
Almost done now, some painting, chipping weathering and I can finally put this one to rest.

The entire build is amazing but I really like the camo. Well done.

Thanks Shawn!
I'm finally on the home straight, turrent almost finished apart from some adjustments to the (oil) chipping that I'm not convinced by, adding the dust, streaks, rust and polished graphite powder then it's onto the hull....oh and the mantlet cover:

Well, almost there.
a wee bit of minor fettling, rust, dust and streaks to add, graphite highlights and oil spots
the one thing I'm reallt chuffed with is I may have nailed the bare metal chipping colour, I used W&N oils, lamp black mixed with Iridium white, then a touch of Prussian blue, it even looks like it has a shine in the photos! Really pleased with that:

Re: Tamiya T-62
Well I'm calling this a wrap!
I have to repaint the loaders hatch after a mishap but besides that it's finished.
what an experience it's been, the learning process alone was worth the effort and time, the next one is the Tamiya Pzkfw II (French campaign), a smaller, better model this time and a simple colour scheme for a quicker build. Well that's model No.2 and my first 1/35 under my belt with others in the pipeline, I picked up the Tamiya Panther for £12 which I'll build straight out of the box and use as a modeling mule.
Merry christmas to all.
