Re: Tamiya T-62
Very nice progress, as usual it's a shame all that effort is eventually hidden under paint
As for the chipping...I see the problem there. I'd go with option 1, but afterwards perhaps do some extra chipping with a different method on the spots where both camo colours have worn away to reveal the original basecoat. I'm quite a fan of sponge chipping, and it's a very simple and reliable method with a bit of practice.
I honestly see no way to do both types of chipping with the hairspray method, but maybe someone else has a better idea?

Re: Tamiya T-62
Thanks fellas, I'd actually forgotten all about sponge and brush chipping! I'll give that a try on the hull around the tracks.
Steve, what is HTH's?

Camo scheme applied and chipping to the lower hull, I've used chipping fluid so far but will brush and sponge for the rest of it:

Back to the turret for now.
Some Eduard PE added, texture redone (I think the way I did it before was a little soft) and loaders periscope given some attention:

Re: Tamiya T-62
Hi Guys,
Not been on this model for some time with a new job and the hustle and bustle of daily life but I'm back on it now.
I wasn't happy with the colour scheme nor the chipped finish, I thought it looked a bit naff so I found a 3 colour Syrian scheme and loosely based this on it, I had a crack at colour modulation (or paint rendering, whatever you want to call it) with airbrush and Tamiya acrylics and with a brush and oils. Some tidying of the pinwash to do then a brown filter on the turret.

Re: Tamiya T-62
Lovely work on the camo and blending/modulation/oil dot render depending on whose style to are following.
It is certainly a good base for the final washes and weathering.
Nice one

Thanks Steve,
I'm new to all this malarkey, what do you mean by, "... who's style I'm following"? I just thought that colour modulation and rendering were types of tonal variation to mimic shadow and fading used by modellers following a particular process?
