Nice progress Adam

Gary once suggested food colouring for armoured glass?

Perhaps a heavy dilation to a weak wash?

There is a periscope/armoured glass colour out there but it is a full colour too.

Have fun with the interior painting

Regards

I have successfully used a mix of Future/Klir and Clear Green. The trick is to spray very thin coats until you get the tint you desire.

Thanks guys. Inadvertently I may have achieved the effect, I used VMS Clean Slate to clean off the paint I had applied but it has left a faint green tint that may be what I’m after ;)

Steady progress on this but am a bit held up waiting for the seatbelts from Quinta. Finally managed to secure this guy;

I like his pose, and he covers an error I made on the foot plates! :D

Sudden burst of progress here as we go into yet another Covid lockdown😔

I’ve primed with black and “pershaded” with white. I’ve gone with the three tone hard edged camo pattern. I’ve laid down the yellow sand, masked and then laid down the blue black. Masking is a pain, lots of compound shapes to cover. I bought a Voyager masking tape cutting template a while back and it’s been a god send.

I’m hoping all of this work is worth it!

I feel your pain. I'm sure the result will reward your efforts.

Sorry to hear the crowned plague got through quarantine, I hope you manage to contain the outbreak.... :?

Good luck with the camo, spraying hard edges sure is challenging...

The Quinta studios seat belts for Typhoon finally turned up. $7 USD per set so not a cheap exercise if you were to do all 7 seats. As it is the back is all closed up so the photo here will be the only record of the rear seats!

The Quinta Studios belts come with an instruction diagram and a generic set of instructions on how to work with vinyl decals. The belts come mounted on decal paper but you need to soak them off this, dry them and then assemble with CA glue. Being vinyl they mold to the seats nicely, and are easier to handle than PE equivalents.

…and done. Took about 15mins per seat. They are a bit glossy, but a quick coat of Matt varnish should knock this back.

Finished interior, front seats are just press fit as I need to add dirt/dust to the floor. The inverted cone behind the seats is the base of the remote turret. Quinta also does a set of vinyl decals for the dash, but it’s for the Zvezda kit.
