Always a big fan of Meng kits which I have always felt have a superior level of detail to Tamiya kits but the same “buildability”. They do have a slightly higher price point, but you get what you pay for!

This will be OOB but I have added Meng’s aftermarket sagged wheels.

So, first impressions. 6 well packaged sprues, one of which is a double (A) and one is of clear parts for the armoured windows etc (E). One photo etch part (radiator grill), 4 vinyl tyres, some poly caps and a separate turret part and body part. Very small set of decals (fine detail, all in register). Parts are very detailed, nicely molded with very little needed in the way of clean up. 4 small springs are also provided.

Instructions are in booklet form, nicely detailed and clear. Parts to be added are picked out in a separate colour. Two colour schemes, Russian green and a three tone cam. Codes are given for AK acrylics.

Steering is posable and suspension works thanks to the 4 springs

The AM resin tyres are a step up on the vinyl ones, mold blocks are on the bottom so clean up is minimal. No instructions on how to mount them to the model, but I suspect it’s not rocket science.

I’ve started to glue some of the sub assemblies, fit of parts so far is excellent. The plastic is very soft. I usually use MiG thin cement which can be very hot, especially as I like to clamp things. I’m using Tamiya extra thin for this one and only light pressure on parts and still getting a bit of melted plastic ooze…

Interesting project Adam, not something I'd pickup myself, but I'm curious how it builds up

Anyone know a good brand for aftermarket seatbelts in 1/35? I know I said this would be OOB but I want to leave the front doors open and the lack of seatbelts is pretty glaring!

I am certainly no expert, so have no idea if these are the correct ones

That’s the ones, these 3D printed vinyl decals are certainly taking the modeling world by storm!

Despite quite a high part count this one falls together pretty quick. Fit is nice, just a touch of filler around one of the rear panel lines.

Detail is good, just a couple of points:
-The PKTM machine gun barrel needs drilled out
-The muzzle brake on the 2A42 30mm cannon also needs to be drilled out. There are after market barrels but the kit one is very usable
-The three cameras over the windscreen are just molded as solid blocks. A shallow drill and some acrylic water (Phil’s technique) should give them a lense
-No seat belts, but only the front seats are visible with the doors closed so I’ve got the aftermarket 3D printed ones coming from Quinta Studios
-The tread plate on the steps needs drilled out
-Adding some wires to the turret electronics internally “busies” it up a bit
-You could also add the wires to the cameras and mirrors if you wanted to.

Next is my favorite task…painting interiors

Armored glass. How do you guys replicate the blue/Green tint? Just tried spraying clear green but it is way too heavy.
