Got to agree, this is almost one to leave “in the white” so that all the scratch work can be appreciated!Philipp Gross wrote: ↑20 Jun 2021, 23:01 All the effort you put into this is just amazing Olivier! Please take lots of photos before you paint it!

Don't tempt me! Painting and weathering are not the best part of the hobby to me.Adam Durrant wrote: ↑21 Jun 2021, 11:13Got to agree, this is almost one to leave “in the white” so that all the scratch work can be appreciated!
I finally added the smoke dischargers using the tubes and their bases from KMT with the grenades from Blast Models as well as the hanging caps.
I've dryfitted the wheels from Djiti. They just need to cut the axles a bit to properly fit.
Now it's ready for the paint booth. I have enough in progress pics to remember what was done before painting.

Here are the last pictures of the build step. The hatches, the ramp and the side baskets are secured with blu-tac and will be painted separately.
The camo will be the standard Central Europe 3 tone camo. The markings will be 92nd infantry regiment during operation Serval.

Here is the beginning of the painting step. The three tone camo is made with home made mix for the green and the brown. I honestly can't tell you the precise composition of each mix as I've made several trials before getting something relevant.
I also fixed the small mistakes in the camo scheme issued by Heller especially on the driver side.

Very nice and tight paint work. Good AB control. The camo scheme is particularly effective.

Thakn you Bryan.
As I didn't spot a mistake from Heller on the painting scheme I had to use the AB again on the front right side. A brown stripe was omitted. It's fixed now.

I finally got some time to start the weathering after having added some more details such as the bag on the left rear hatch. It still needs to have the ramp lowered and more dust applied.

Re: Heller VBCI with some mods
Thank you Milan. I have applied much more dust to the wheels and a lot of dirt on the side bags. The rear ramp is glued in the lowered position so part of the interior will remain visible. I'll post some pictures later. I still need to add the locking hooks for the ramp.

Here are some more pictures. The bags have been painted in a darker tone and got several washes to look more dirty. I'm close to the end.
