AML 60 Takom

Hello all
I recently finished this tiny armored car by Takom. I built and painted it as a Spanish Legion vehicle in the Spanish Sahara in the early 70s.
The kit is a good one with minor issues like the huge pouring lugs which sometimes require extra work to clean the parts. The fit is usually good however you need to be careful with the rear boxy parts.
Takom proposes the both versions of this armored car: with twin 7.5 mm MG and the 60 mm mortar or with .50 cal MG and the 60 mm mortar.
To backdate the AML, I just removed the NBC decontamination bottle on the left door (a Frecnh only feature). I also modified the searchlight so it is slaved to the weapons and I added the straps for the gap ditching elements (not sand channels as often mentioned) on front of the vehicle.

It is painted in a sand color which is a mix of Tamiya Desert Yellow and Buff. I applied a white filter to give it a sunbleached look. The dust effect is done with various shades of pigments.

Nice clean build Olivier. You are becoming a modelling machine with the number of kits you finish :D

Right Vincent. But for this one I pledge not guilty. The model is so small that as soon as you've opened the box half of the kit is nearly assembled.

Thanks Bryan.
It is fun indeed. The next one will have the turret with the 90 mm gun by Takom. I don't have the Tiger Model kit which comes with a full interior but this is not a must have for me. I consider an interior as more suitable for IFV when you can see most of it thanks to the rear ramp or doors and multiple hatches.

Philipp,
I'll send you the pictures soon.
