Undercoated with Mr Finishing Surfacer 1500, base coated in Tamiya XF-53, then “Distressed” using chipping fluid and layers of Mr Hobby H307 and H308. I’ve applied an Ammo acrylic “Pale Blue” filter (MIG-0829) to start tying it all together.

Next step is oils and a pin wash….

Oils completed. Had a go with the VMS “Oil Expert” enhancing medium. Handles just like thinner but supposedly the oils dry within 24hrs.

The props are on and I’ve begun the work on the exhaust.

I bought an “Octypus” model holder/work stand a while back. Still coming to grips with it but it does free up a hand!

The Type 95 tracks turned up from HobbyEasy. Made by Fat Frog (I believe a bricks and mortar subsidiary of HobbyEasy) they are 3D printed resin. They came well packaged in a plastic box, well padded with foam. The support points are tiny and the links just snap off without any clean up needed. The links press fit together without adhesive and are workable.

I’m a bit worried there are enough links, but considering the Ka-Mi is shorter than it’s parent tank I should be OK. :?

That came out nicely :D I need to try that distressed paint method some day. Good luck with the tracks, they look a bit fiddly

Still quietly working on this despite the world trying to collapse around me…if it isn’t Covid it’s a natural disaster. NZ needs a break!

That cyclone looked really nasty... I'm glad you're safe! :?

Great job on the weathering, the distressed paint came out nicely!
