I wonder what happens when you run out of weird Soviet beasts to model :o

Excellent build as usual! :D

I don't know if that is possible. I've seen enough concepts to keep me busy for years. Heck KV-4 concepts alone would fill a shelf.

Thanks. It's been a fun build so far.

Oh right...the KV-4 alone should suffice for the next two decades

I have been working on the PE. All soldered joints.

Eduard PE screens. So much better than the solid kit parts. Four pieces each assembly

Voyager stowage bins. I replaced the flat PE handles with wire. Twelve pieces each assembly

Fenders are next.

Thanks guys. I decided to add even more brass.

I picked up a set of Voyager KV fenders for a decent price on an ebay auction. They were a little frustrating to solder all the bits but it's really the only way to bang the crap out of them without parts falling off.

Really nice work on the etch Bryan!

I've braved tool 2mm long tool clasp pieces but these KV air grilles still give me nightmares... :?

Thanks Phil,

Honestly, the last time I tried German tool clasps I gave up out of frustration. But I was OK with spending 5 hours soldering fenders

I'm still afraid of trying brass soviet cylindrical fuel tanks but I have a JS-2 I want to build and I need to put on my big boy pants and just do it. :D

The Eduard KV air grills are the best solution. They have the right balance of detail and ease of assembly. Voyager and Aber make it too difficult.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that struggles with german tool clamps. I don't think I've ever got one truly "right".

Your fenders look spot on Bryan. PE does make damage so much easier to represent. :)

Cheers,
Vincent
