It certainly looks good to me :D

For my Panzer III in the desert GB I tried my luck with Mig paints, they seem a little too strong for my taste. I need to tone them down next time.

I wanted to try the AK Real colors but was too lazy to drive to the hobby shop.

Making some progress. First I applied a wash and filters to the base colors. Next I used the hair spray technique to add the distressed paint effect. Next I went back with AK Washable White to add some mapping. Over the white wash I applied a grey-brown wash and a very light blue-grey filter. Next I used Humbrol Enamel White to add additional mapping effects. Tracks have been given couple of dark washes and polished with Uschi Steel.

Lovely start Bryan. Looks suitably beaten up already. :)

Nice work Bryan, apart from dirtying up the tracks and running gear I’d be tempted to leave it there :D

Thanks Adam and Vincent -Most photos of these 901st Stugs show them crusted in snow. I think they rolled right off the trains and into winter combat.

I *think* it's done. It's a difficult finish to pull off. I think we are so use to seeing tanks covered in dust and mud.

I'd say you pulled it off very nicely :D

What did you use for the snow?

Bryan

Man that look really good. The white was and finishing is some top shelf stuff. The weathering is definitely not over done at all. I seem to always over the weathering on my models.

Any plans on a simple base?

Same question as Philipp and what did you use for the snow?

Thanks guys! :D

The snow is a mix of Marble Powder for whiteness, Micro Balloons for volume and Woodland Scenics snow flakes for texture. This is mixed with Gloss Acrylic Medium. The result is satin so I brushed over the snow clumps with Gloss clear.
