Thanks Adam. :) The book is the one about the Trumpeter Stalinetz tractor, titled SM.02 S-65 City Tractor. I found this book to be excellent and I've learnt a lot from trying out the techniques.

I thought I'd share some pics of the first round of weathering. I usually have my trusty AMMO and AK Interactive enamel paints for this step but to my surprise, some of them have separated in the jar. :( Even stirring them did not bring back the best consistency of the paint. I guess they are getting old like me. So I had to make do with what I could improvise with oils and the remaining enamels.
This is where I'm at right now.

I still have a lot to do yet but some progress will be slow as I need the base to be able to integrate the ground work onto the hull sides. I hope that makes sense?

Lookin real nice Vincent. Had the same problem today with my Ammo “rust” enamels, opened them to find a thick layer of sludge that won’t mix with the carrier. Looks like they have a shelf life.... :(

I’ve got the book, like you I found it an excellent source of inspiration. I’ve got a couple more on preorder but the delivery has been pushed out over 8mths now due to some issue he’s having with his printers.

There is one on Hairspray technique (TG.01), one on Oil Paint rendering (TG.02) a Brummbar build (SM.04) and a Hanomag build (SM.05). All in the same series as the Tractor Build. They were for release mid last year so I preordered, still waiting.... :(

I'm surprised about the problems your having with the Ammo and AK products. But, you have certainly overcome any problems, and have obtained some great effects.

Thanks Shawn. :) Yes, the paint problem was a surprise and it makes me think twice about buying replacements.

I think a lot of the Ammo and AK modeling products are directed at lazy modelers like me. They are essentially pre-thinned enamel paints and you could probably do the same with Humbrol or Tamiya enamels, some thinner and a bit of patience and time! :D

Absolutely Adam, but then there wouldn't be a package on the doorstep to get excited over ;)
I like the sound of a Lazy Modellers Club. I wonder how many we could recruit?
