Little bit of sanding and gluing over the weekend and hey presto, it's done!







The RB models barrel is superb, the kit one is a bit basic in comparison.

The Trumpeter aftermarket tracks are a huge step up on the kit vinyl ones. They go together like Model Kasten ones but the pins are a bit short and they still have a habit of popping apart. The recommendation is 80 links per side, but 81-82 looks much better.

I've scratched up armour for the loader and commanders main sights as suggested by Olivier.

The flexible hose on the exhaust comes in two halves and it would be impossible to remove the join due to the raised ridges on the hose sections. Copied an idea from a Strv-103C build in an edition of Abrams Squad and wrapped it with copper wire to create the same effect.

Some grab handles and brackets remade with brass wire, but some used straight out of the kit as they were actually very good.

gave everything a bath in the sink this afternoon, should get some primer on this week.

Noted, just checked the kit, managed to jam the axel between the wheel and it’s hub rather than line them up correctly. Was in a rush to play with it!

Made some progress over the weekend. Have decided on a winter camo scheme and possibly a small diorama to try out some AK Diorama stuff I have had in the cupboard for a while.

JA Green from Tamiya is meant to be a close match to the green base coat, I applied this over a grey primer with some preshading. The pics I have of winter schemes look to be hard edged with no set pattern, so masked up my own.

Base coats on;



I applied some Mig chipping effects fluid prior to the white as looks like the winter camo is a whitewash that doesn't wear well so I've "distressed" it a bit.



Once it was all dry I applied a clear coat and the decals just went on this evening. I'll add another clear coat tomorrow and then begin washes etc.
