Alanger 2S9
Hi all,
I just started this old kit (2002 but with 70s conception techniques!).
The boxart is way better detai wise than the kit in the box.
After a couple of hours yesterday and today I managed to get the turret looking better at least.
TBC.

Re: Alanger 2S9
Wow.....carving it from a block of wood might be the easier option
Good luck with that!

Re: Alanger 2S9
Thank you Bryan.
I have nearly completed the turret, the straps on the rear are missing yet.
I assembled the 120 mm gun tube which was not cylindrical to say the least. Some minutes of sanding later, it looked better.
I also tackled the solid molded grilles. I started by cutting the grilles taking care not to damage the inner side of the hull.
Once removed, the plastic grille is "downsized" by sanding and wrapped with some Aber PE mesh.
There was a small air intake which asked to be hollowed!

Re: Alanger 2S9
Thank you Steve.
Here are my Sunday progress.
I started to upgrade the rear hull. I had more footman loops done but my CA glue appears to be dead. The loops didn't stay in place long. I was happy to them befroe the carpet monster as they are only 1.5 mm long.
The details on the exhausts are not perfect as I just intended to give some illusion.
The two hatches were molded in relief which is wrong. They are flush with the armor panel. So I engraved the panel line then sanded the hatches away.
