Strangely enough some smaller towns tend to have a better chance at keeping such shops in business. There's one in Büdingen, a few kilometres to the east. I haven't been there for a while but last time they still had a fairly decent selection. However I've never seen any shop with aftermarket, except for a few random items that nobody ever bought.

Philipp- The tiger is amazing. The extra detail including the PE, and Zimmerit certainly takes this to the next level. Of course the Sherman looks great as well. Love the camo on this one. This will be one impressive scene once it all comes together.

Thank you Shawn I hope my painting can do it justice...
In other news, I tried my luck with the markings on the Sherman. In case you ever wondered how some decal sheets can become horribly misprinted:
I made these in Inkscape based on a rough estimate regarding size and proportions. To the right is the result printed as SVG (vector), to the left as PNG (bitmap). As you can see the SVG print has...problems.
However, now that I have that file on hand I might try my luck with printing my own decals for the first time. I bought blank decal paper ages ago for exactly this purpose but thus far I was too afraid to use it....

Thanks Raoul!
Well, I tried my luck. It's nice and sharp but slightly grainy. Obviously my printer has problems with solid black on decal paper. If anything else fails I need to carefully overpaint the decals.
Since I'm not using stencils I'll do the detail painting, chipping etc first before adding a gloss coat and then the markings.
Concerning the Tiger, I picked some figures:
No idea if the crew would stay on board during a recovery operation, but I guess it beats walking

I know that if it was my vehicle being recovered I'd stay with it, it probably has all my possessions and treasures on board and I wouldn't want to leave them unguarded for some light fingered engineer/mechanic to pilfer

Those figures look terrific Philipp. All very relaxed for what you have planned.
