Stug 111 Ausf C

Seeing Gary finish some of his Shelf Queens inspired me to finish off my stalled Stug from the Panzer 111 Group Build. ;) After opening the dust covered box and looking at what I had done before, I moved ahead surprisingly quickly. It's not perfect by any means but I can at least call it progress. Besides, I'm closer to painting than I was before
This where I'm up to.

I need to make a tarp as well. We'll see how that goes :D
Cheers,

Panzer III GB? That was a while ago

Anyhow, fantastic work so far - especially the empty engine compartment :D

Great job on the engine compartment, but even more impressive to me is how "organic" the wrecked suspension looks with parts of it distributed all around the StuG :D !

Best regards

Engine compartment looks great Vincent, love the scratch built engine mounts.

Thanks Philipp. :) I didn't look up the date of the GB in case I got too much of a shock  The poor Stug has been sitting in the cupboard way too long.

Thanks Raoul. :) I put a lot of work into the suspension components only to find that the fit is specific to each side. :? Of course I missed that until after I starting fitting them to the Stug, hence why they are distributed around. Some mistakes work out fine in the end.

Thanks Adam. It was the suspension mounts that stumped me the first time around causing the build to stall. When I tried this time it all just went together smoothly. :) I'm happy with the result. The engine bay should look nice with some weathering and dirt in there. ;)

Hi Vincent,

Very nice! Great work on the engine bay. Maybe add some junk in there to busy it up a little bit more? A couple of tins or oil cans, rusted of course :P Also a couple of old rubber drive belts. You could add a couple of old spanners that had been left behind?
