GAZ Crane Truck (Aeroflot scheme)
The annual meeting of Airliners International (like IPMS for people who collect airline memorabilia) is being hosted here in Denver next summer. Part of the Airliners show is a model contest. The rules state that the topic can be any flying machine used in commercial passenger carrying service.
To go along with a helicopter maintenance diorama, I will need one of these in a light blue Aeroflot paint scheme:
I'll be starting from here:
I'm doing an Aeroflot helicopter...because I'm just weird like that.
The Trumpeter kit:
The contest is in July and it's just starting to get cold in Colorado. I know what I'll be doing this winter.

Re: GAZ Crane Truck (Aeroflot scheme)
Most of the work has been going into the helicopter side of the diorama. But I did finally get a start on the GAZ crane.
Not much to show, really. But the big work will begin once the truck is complete and I can get to work putting a crane on the back of it.

Yeah. Yeah. It's not really "armour". But here's many of the same pictures as well as a few not in the original thread.
The passenger version has square windows. So I had to cut the round windows in the kit. If you've not given it a try, take a look at a UV activated glue called Bondic. It doesn't fog clear parts.
