I quite like the grey scale on this. It's painted as if it were a larger scale model.

I didn't see the figures until just now. Did you use any washes or are the dark areas shadowed with individual brush strokes?

Not for skin tones. I'm still going with oil for faces. But on bigger figures I've found that acrylics are too harsh. It seems that smaller figure are better for sudden color transitions.
