Re: HobbyBoss Panzer 38

I appreciate everybody's kind words for this project. Still chugging along and I have the oils for the dust and dirt for the upper hull finished except for the spare tracks. Still thinking of what to do with them to make them stand out. I am going to start working on the lower hull and tracks next. ...

Re: HobbyBoss Panzer 38

It has been a while since my last update. I did not get much bench time for awhile and then all of a sudden I have just been going gangbusters lately. I may even get this thing finished by June 30th (this year even!) Painting is finished and I have moved on to weathering. This is my first attempt us...

Re: HobbyBoss Panzer 38

I haven't heard of that primer before Dennis. Sounds pretty good. :) Vincent I think outside the US is is branded as UMP. I may be wrong though. The kit has really nice detail. Pin washes are going to look really good around all those rivets. Shawn I decided to add a highlight to each to make them ...

Re: HobbyBoss Panzer 38

Thank everyone! Steve, I am just hoping to get a few completed builds under my belt before I start with any grandiose plans ;) I finally got the primer on. Sorry about the terrible picture but once the sun goes down I can't get any decent pictures in my house. The primer is Badger's Stynylrez. This ...

Re: HobbyBoss Panzer 38

Sorry about the long absence but it has been quite hectic over here. Started a new job and a new home business, but back on track now. Today I finished the construction on the Panzer 38. Time to disassemble the components and get some primer on it this weekend. Sorry about the clutter. http://i.imgu...

Re: HobbyBoss Panzer 38

I have the tracks on both sides now. I usually wait until the end to put tracks on but I am going to be putting them on as soon as possible from now on. If something is going to kill my desire to finish a project it is the tracks. So the sooner the better. I did glue the track links together and the...

Re: 2017 Group Build Pt. 1: Self Propelled Guns / Panzer 38(

You're putting me in a difficult situation here. Maybe we can at least keep regular SP artillery as minimum standard? :? Philipp That is fine. I had my doubts about finishing 2 kits anyway. I imagine there will be an anti-aircraft build someday. I have other projects that need attention before I st...

Re: 2017 Group Build Pt. 1: Self Propelled Guns / Panzer 38(

If Assault guns are okay what about self propoelled anti-aircraft artillery?

I have a Takom ZSU-57-2 in my stash that I am looking for a reason to build :D

Re: HobbyBoss Panzer 38

I have one side of track finished. These tracks click together with little plastic pins but they are definitely not workable. The longest run of links I could get together without falling apart was 40 links. I ended up making much smaller runs as I found myself repeatedly trying to piece them back t...

HobbyBoss Panzer 38

Here is my entry for the Panzer 38 and variants group build. I don't think I could have been more been vanilla than building a straight Panzer 38 instead of one of the many much more interesting variants that are out there. I saw this kit for 25 USD and once I learned that they are old Tristar kits,...
