Mounting brackets coming off as well, stowage boxes going here. Can’t find any pics with spare track links on the fenders. The kit would also have you mount a fuel tank on the fender, but again, can’t find pics of any in this configuration.

Ahhh, yeah, maybe not that much work!
The two engine hatches at the back of the rear deck are flush with the deck. They appear to be raised in the pics Philipp posted, is this correct? The Royal Models set has two resin hatches and I could replace them with these.

Re: Tamiya 1:35 KV-2
The KV-2 has the raised hatches both at the front and rear. If I'm not mistaken Tamiya has extra parts for them included?
The flat hatches were used from early 1942 on and were only seen on KVs with the long 76mm gun.

Re: Tamiya 1:35 KV-2
Steady work over the last two weeks removing some of the coarser details and using selective parts from the PE set. Followed the notes on the site Bryan suggested...to the most part
Replaced the hatches and exhausts with the resin parts. Lifting rings added from the PE. Storage boxes detailed and "skeleton" fender braces added.
Wiring conduit added, front fenders detailed.
Final product, ready for primer when the weather allows.

Re: Tamiya 1:35 KV-2
Primer on yesterday. Planning on doing the "black and white" technique again so modulation started today. Supposedly you can start the chipping process by painting the chips in white. Once you lay down the top coat the chips will be light and you can fill the centre of the bigger ones with a chipping colour of your preference. Going to try it on the front appliqué armour.
Hoping to get the top colour down this week.

Interesting technique with the chipping. Looking forward to how it turns out.
Looking good so far. Sorry I made more work for you.

Re: Tamiya 1:35 KV-2
Got the green on, used AK Interactives "light 4Bo base"
The chipping looks OK, might shift to this technique and do more extensive chipping on the next build
Topped it off with a coat of white over hairspray
and then a bit of chipping
Managed to get a filter on before my flight, hope to do a bit more when I get back this week
