A while ago I read about a technique using white glue and a product from Deluxe Materials called Icy Sparkles to create shattered glass. I'm sorry I can't recall where I read it but I have been chasing the Icy Sparkles product for some time.

The idea is to spread out some white glue then add the Icy Sparkles. Once it dries you can cut it to any shape you like.
My first couple of attempts were ok but I think some additional practice would yield more realistic results.
Anyway, this is what I ended up with.

I think its something I'll use more often. ;)
Cheers,
Vincent

Thanks guys! :)

I've given the Pickup a couple of layers of washes and oils. There is still more to do but I wanted to show my progress so far.

Seriously great weathering, Vincent

I shall have to reference this for my weathering.

Lovely work and still more to do!

One of the last items to finish off was the locking mechanism for the tailgate. The kit supplied items are ok given the limitations of injection moulding but I wanted some extra "zing" on my pickup. So I scratchbuilt something a little more realistic. This pic shows the real thing, the white piece from the kit and mine held in tweezers.

Once they were done I painted and weathered them then attached them to the finished pickup. I'm happy with how they turned out. :)

After adding some pigments for a dusty dirty look I'm calling this one done. :)

I'll send some more to Philipp for the Gallery. Now to decide what kit to do next. ;)
Thanks for watching.

Vincent
