Bronco A13 Mk.II Cruiser

This kit was generously donated by my brother who had grown frustrated with the build experience provided by Bronco.

I have developed an interest in British armour recently so this kit is right in my wheelhouse. It's quirky and colourful and I plan on building it OOB, mainly because I don't have much reference material. Construction is straight forward but in true Bronco style, there are numerous small pieces provided in plastic and PE, which may catch out the unwary.
In the pic here the turret is only loosely attached. The side armour for the turret is also missing so I can paint in the space between the hull and the armour.

Here you can see the delicate PE straps holding the muffler. Unfortunately, none of this is seen because there is a cover that goes over the whole thing.

Once I get my new compressor I can add some primer. However, I do have to order some paint for this one as well, which means it may take a bit longer to finish it off.

I've never seen one of these with the spaced armor missing. Kind of a cool look.
Did the kit inexplicably include PE for the turret roof interior? I'm looking at you Bronco KV-85.

I've been going back and forth between different builds and I finally got the base colour on. I'm using AK 3rd Gen British Caunter set and although I haven't tried these before I was quite pleased with the result. They spray easily and dry smoothly. I added a few drops of white to get a faded look over the top surfaces.

Next up is the complicated angles of the rest of the camo pattern.

Putting a Caunter scheme onto all those angles is a daunting task no doubt Have you made any progress?

I've had this colour photo on my hard drive for ages, I hope it's some help to you

I was full of confidence when I started masking the camouflage, after all, I was using the kit's painting instructions as a guide. Unfortunately, the further I went the more confused I became. The main failing is a lack of a plan view which would show where all the colours and angles join each other. It all looks quite easy on the painting guide until you study it carefully. I thought I would just do some research and find some pictures to help but it turns out it isn't a simple subject at all.

Your picture is very helpful Philipp, as most drawings show razor-sharp lines painted on the bodywork but looking closely at the application on the truck it's obvious the lines are anything but. I'll try to incorporate that look when I paint the Cruiser. Now I just have to sort out the stripes somehow.

You could try hand painting it, or hand painting the edges and AB the rest.
