I love how the pin wash just brings the little details to life.

Re: The potentially rather long Churchill Blog
It's been a while The single link tracks for the carrier have been assembled but I'm not painting them just yet as I want to use them to check the required length for the next project which is this
The hull was standard construction and now this is where is gets a little different, waterproofing.
I think the Milliput might be a bit heavy for this after all, I need to give it a think over.
There is a film of this vehicle being trialled on YouTube, if you're interested look under O.S.S. C.O.X.E. Beach Obstacles.

Chris FWIW "Green Stuff" seems to roll thinnest (of all the puttys I've used - Sylmasta, A&B) and will also "conform" and stick if you "wet" it with Mr Hobby thinners (?or IPA).
Good to see this Blog rolling again
I have this fear that I'm going to suddenly fall in love with Churchills and there not be any "Inside the Armour" detailing sets to be had.
Too little money to buy any at the moment sadly
Keep it coming
Rob

Re: The potentially rather long Churchill Blog
Now I regret not having added Churchills to the GB poll
Looking good Chris! I think Gary once simulated the waterproofing with a thick application of oil paints?

Re: The potentially rather long Churchill Blog
I did indeed, but I think that they used a different material for the Churchill. It was a waterprrof canvas I think with a small explosive cord inside which could be blown when exiting the water. I wonder if PVA soaked tissue paper might work better?

The milliput is definitely over scale and will be coming off again. I think the cloth is better than tissue paper though.
Philipp,
I always thought Churchills would come under heavy tanks

They do, but with precisely 0 votes for that at the moment the chances of more Churchills are rather slimChris Smith wrote: Philipp,

Well, there was always the engineering catergory especially given how many engineering Churchills there are now available in plastic Just a pity that it seems that one is not going to be picked, again.
